COVID FIRE 4
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Elaine is regaining her strength and will continue to in the days ahead. We are grateful. Thank you for standing with us and for believing, with us, for the full manifestation of the healing Presence of Jesus in her body. And pray that God would instruct our hearts in this journey.
We will no longer focus on her weakness but I will give significant updates. I have acted as though Covid is a supreme power of sorts, forgetting that it is actually a manifestation of the one whom Jesus defeated on the cross and in the resurrection and made a public mockery of. (Col. 2:9-15)
I know almost nothing of what that means. Actually, less than I once knew. But I’m reading about Jesus in Colossians and Philippians and Matthew and elsewhere and there’s just something out of kilter about how I have submitted to the ravages of the dark spirit whom He has crushed.
I pray for me, and for you, that COVID FIRE would drive us to our knees and that we would learn to know Jesus in a new way through this. Not the religious or sentimental Jesus but the Jesus of Col. 1:26 - 2:15. The Jesus Whose ruling Presence in us will be the only adequate resource for our survival in the Day to come. We are now in training for that Day.
Our belief systems and church management systems have proven inadequate. Our only hope now is to be converted, and to come to Jesus as a child as in Mt. 18:3-4. We must sit on His lap, and look into His face, and listen to Him with ears that hear.
“Jesus, I know so little of what it means to walk with you. Please forgive me for the pride and unbelief that have hardened the soil of my heart. Break up, in your own way, the religious crust that has prevented your Word and your Presence from taking root in my heart. Reveal your true self to me in new and life-giving ways, and I will follow you into the measures of eternal Life that you have provided for us, even for today. The Life that will then draw others toward your Presence in me. Thank you, Jesus.”
“that they would attain to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Col. 2:2b-3
