PREPARE FOR BATTLE 6, NEW WINESKINS
NEW WINESKINS – Part A
I have loved and served the Church for nearly 60-years. I’ve seen many godly pastors and saints in that time who openly declared themselves as followers of Jesus and who lived it out with integrity. Even while being worldly in many respects, we’ve been able to spread the Gospel worldwide.
But this is a different Day as we enter further into End Time events. We are 2000 years closer than when Peter wrote with urgency in II Peter 3:11-14, and who could miss the many obvious “signs” around us!? We need new wineskins (Mt. 9:16-17).
We must redefine the word “church” from being a place we GO TO, to something that we ARE. Something deeply felt and life-changing, but more invisible than visible. More of Spirit and less of man. And our leaders must become more shepherds and less organizational administrators.
My pastoral heart grieves over the many Christians who are like sheep without a shepherd. The memories of this past week in Washington, DC are too fresh to dismiss, and the imaginations of what is coming are too powerful to ignore. They are hurting and fearful as they see the wolf at the door, but many are abandoned by their shepherds. Consider Jesus words in John 10:11-13.
