What a beautiful 1978 ramp shot! It looks like Ft. Lauderdale, with two Connies, Lockheed N9060 and another DC-3 parked around it. Maybe they’re having some kind of get-together to talk about the way the modern sissy-craft with their turbine and jet engines are pushing them to the back.

USAAF C-53D-DO Skytrooper 42-68700 became N86597 for Eastern Airlines after the Big War. From there it bore N2000A. My FAA registers show N517A for Alcoa Aluminum in 1963 and for Voss Engineering of Callery, PA in 1967, followed by N471RF for Ross in 1968.

There’s a 1970 photo of it with the Flight Safety Inc. name, on the ASN accident report (link below). My 1970 register shows owner as Reading Aviation Service, Reading, PA, and Vacation Inc. of Hollywood, FL in 1976 and 1977, all as N471RF. Then came Columbian HK-2214X, HK-2214.
